Valentine City Parks

Enjoy the beauty of nature at Valentine’s parks. Valentine City Park is just outside of town on North Main Street. Stately oak trees surround Minnechaduza Creek, which fl ows through the center of the 40-acre park.  The park is open year-round and
offers activities such ascamping, fishing (the creek is stocked), horseshoe pitching,hiking and picnicking. Th e park also has three playground areas for children. 

South of the creek, more than a mile of trails wind through the park. Though offi cially unmarked, they are clear enough to follow.

A rentable pavilion has a full kitchen and seating for 75-80
people. It rents for $55 a day, plus a $25 refundable deposit.
Other available buildings are the Old Log Cabin and the Girl
Scout Cabin.Camping is available for RVs and tents. Most
camper pads are streamside, tree-shaded, or both, and restrooms and free hot-water showers are on site. Space is on a fi rst-come, fi rstserved basis. Th e fee is $5 per night.

Though not a city park, Mill Pond is a small stocked lake
just across the road from Valentine City Park. It is an NRD
fi sheries restoration project, with two fi shing docks, a boat
ramp, and free primitive camping. Only electric boat motors
are allowed. Th ere are no restrooms on site.

Ecology Park has a swimming pool, playground equipment
and picnic shelters. It is located along Green Street in
northeast Valentine, just across from the city ballfi elds. In
addition to baseball and soft ball fi elds, the property has an
RV dump station.

Trailhead Park is on the south side of town on Main Street.
As the name indicates, it is the trailhead for the Cowboy
Trail hike/bike path. Th e park has a picnic shelter and tables
to seat 50 people; a kitchen rents for $35, plus a $25 deposit.
Adjacent to Centennial Hall at 3rd and Macomb, Colburn
Park has a picnic shelter that seats 25-30 people.
